Welcome to The Upper Room, home of the Rethinking Scripture podcast.
This little room has become the place where many of the ideas behind The Cold Call Delusion first took shape. Week after week, I sit down at this desk to explore Scripture through its literary, historical, and theological context—asking questions that invite us to slow down, read more carefully, and sometimes reconsider conclusions we’ve long taken for granted.
The podcast isn’t about being controversial for the sake of controversy. It’s about learning to observe the biblical text before drawing theological conclusions. Along the way, we explore recurring biblical themes, first-century culture, covenant history, and the narrative patterns that connect the entire story of Scripture.
And yes… that really is a 4’×6′ rug depicting The Last Supper on the ceiling. It seemed like the perfect reminder that some of Scripture’s most important conversations happened in an upper room.
